God, Our Source

Our God is All in All! He is everything we need. He is the source for every good gift and every perfect gift. If we want peace we do not seek peace for the sake of having peace. If we want joy we do not seek joy for the sake of joy. If we want strength we do not seek strength for the sake of being strong. No, first and foremost we seek God, desire God, long for God with all our hearts, our minds and our souls. Then peace will be ours; joy will be ours; we will be made strong. 

Peace, joy, strength, and any other blessing we want cannot be the object of our desires. They cannot become the object of our yearnings. We must not pray, “Give me more joy Lord.” We should pray, “Give me more of you, Lord, so that I will live with a heart filled with joy to glorify you.”
