Thoughts About Heaven

Can you imagine what heaven is going to be like? We can only guess, and our guessing will fall way short of how wonderful it will be. Here are some things I have thought about. Most of the people in heaven will have never known anything about computers, cell phones, the internet, airplanes or spaceships. Most will never have heard of America, baseball,  Apple pie or Chevrolet. Most in heaven will not be like us except that Jesus Christ is their Savior. I believe that when we all get to heaven every care and concern that we will have had on earth will have been much different than they had during our time in this world.

The Bible refers to heaven as a new heaven and a new earth. It will be perfect. We will have new bodies. I am really going to like that. We won't have anything to worry about because we will never be sick and we will never die. There will be no sin. We will not be angels. People do not become angels when the leave this earth. We will have physical bodies and live in a place which will be a perfect, physical earth. I think heaven will be like the place where God put Adam and Eve, like the Garden of Eden. Heaven will be a beautiful place, more beautiful than anything we have ever seen or imagined.

Heaven will not be a boring place. We will have plenty to do. I think God will give each of us something to do, and whatever it is it will glorify him. We will be happier than we have ever been. Think about what consumes your time and energy now. Much of what we do now wears us out and does not fulfill us. But in heaven Jesus will consume our every thought. All that we do will honor Him. We will not ever get tired. We won’t ever worry about what to wear, eat, or say, and we won’t worry about what people think about us because everyone will have only good thoughts.

We have have imagined what we will do in heaven when we first get to Heaven.. I have heard people say that when they get to heaven they will have questions that they will ask God about some mystery that has always bothered them. When we get to heaven and see the face of Jesus I doubt if we will be concerned about anything that bothered us on its planet. I cannot say for sure what heaven will be like, but I sure am glad that some time soon it will be my eternal home.
